Key takeaways
- Onsite pays when Amazon shows your content. A shopper has to click the idea list, photo, video or livestream Amazon placed, then buy. Traffic you send yourself earns your link rate.
- Since April 2026, only the exact variant counts. The purchase has to be the same product variant your content links to, after a minimum view.
- Onsite usually pays less than your links. Home, furniture, garden and pet products pay the same, and health and personal care pays more.
- Add tax details to your Onsite Store ID. Amazon pays each Store ID only once it has tax information.
What are Amazon onsite commissions?
Amazon onsite commissions are the commission Amazon pays influencers when it displays their published content on Amazon, on the homepage, in shopping results or on product pages, and a shopper clicks that content and makes a qualifying purchase. They cover idea lists, photos, videos and, where available, livestreams, and they never include traffic you send to Amazon or your storefront yourself.
What changed for onsite commissions in April 2026
From 14 April 2026, Amazon pays onsite commission only on purchases of the same product variant as the product page your content links to. Before, Amazon’s onsite statement allowed purchases in the same product category. The purchase also has to follow a minimum viewing period that Amazon sets, and an onsite view never overrides a shopper who arrived through your own link.
- Rates fell too. Many guides still quote the old onsite rates, which are today’s Creator Ads rates. Today’s onsite rates are lower in most categories.
- Tag exactly what you show. Only the tagged variant earns, so tag the size, color or model you filmed.
Amazon lists the change in its operating agreement changes.
Amazon onsite commission rates by category
Amazon onsite commission rates are set by category, and in all but 2 of the 22 category groups Amazon lists with a link rate, onsite pays less than your links. Home, furniture, garden and pet products pay the same either way, health and personal care pays more onsite, and physical books and toys pay a fraction.
| Category | Your links | Onsite |
|---|---|---|
| Home, furniture, home improvement, lawn and garden, and pet products | 3% | 3% |
| Health and personal care | 1% | 1.25% |
| Beauty, musical instruments, and business and industrial supplies | 3% | 2% |
| Kitchen and automotive | 4.5% | 1.25% |
| Clothing, shoes, jewelry, watches, luggage, handbags and accessories | 4% | 1% |
| Physical books | 4.5% | 0.5% |
| Toys | 3% | 0.5% |
| All other categories | 4% | 1% |

How to qualify for Amazon onsite commissions
To qualify for Amazon onsite commissions, you need to be an approved Amazon Influencer Program member: Amazon’s current help pages say approved influencers are assigned an Onsite Store ID automatically and that, if they are eligible, Amazon may select content from their storefront. Amazon decides which content it places, and is not obliged to use any.
- The 3 and 10 video rules are old. Older Amazon FAQ pages said you could sign up after 3 videos, or after 10 approved ones. Amazon’s newest video guide gives no count: videos have to pass moderation before they can earn from onsite placements.
- Publish in the right country. Content has to be published in a country to earn onsite there, and Amazon’s video FAQ says shoppable videos appear only on Amazon.com.
- Associates are an open question. Associates have had storefronts since April 2026, but Amazon’s onsite pages still name only Influencer Program members. Our guide to becoming an Amazon influencer covers joining the program.
A large video library is what Amazon’s own advice points to, and most storefronts do not have one: 39% of the 169,178 US storefronts in Spreesy’s index carry 10 or more shoppable videos, and 39% carry none.
How to earn more Amazon onsite commission
To earn more onsite commission, give Amazon more videos it can place: videos of at least 30 seconds that show and tag every product in them, with nothing Amazon rejects. Amazon’s guidance names these points.
- Length: at least 30 seconds, which Amazon calls the quality bar for placement.
- Tagging: tag every product the video shows, and don’t tag products it doesn’t.
- Originality: Amazon rejects duplicate content, and may mute a video with music.
- Product choice: the free product check on Influencer Studio shows how many storefronts already recommend a product in a video, before you film it.

How Amazon pays onsite commissions
Amazon pays onsite commissions about 60 days after the end of the month in which they were earned, from $10 by direct deposit or gift card and from $100 by check. The Onsite Store ID, which often begins with onamz, needs its own tax information before Amazon can pay it.
Questions about Amazon onsite commissions
What is an onsite commission on Amazon?
It is what Amazon pays an influencer when it shows their content on Amazon and a shopper clicks it and buys. It covers idea lists, photos, videos and livestreams that Amazon places on its homepage, in shopping results and on product pages, and never the traffic you send to Amazon yourself.
Do you need 10 videos for onsite commissions?
Not by Amazon’s current pages. The 3 and 10 video thresholds come from older Amazon FAQ pages. Amazon now says approved influencers are assigned an Onsite Store ID automatically, and that it chooses which content to place.
How do you know if you have onsite commissions?
Look for an Onsite Store ID in Associates Central. It often begins with onamz, and Amazon’s reports show your onsite earnings and units under it. Add tax information to that Store ID, or it cannot be paid.
Why did onsite commissions drop in 2026?
Amazon narrowed what counts and lowered the rates. Since 14 April 2026 onsite pays only on the same product variant the content links to, and today’s onsite rates sit below the old ones, which now apply to Creator Ads.
Are onsite commissions paid on top of link commissions?
No. Amazon pays onsite separately from other payments. A shopper who arrived through your own link earns your link rate, and an onsite view does not override that session.
Do onsite sales count toward the three sales in 180 days?
Amazon does not say. Its policy guide asks for at least three qualifying sales in your first 180 days without naming onsite sales, so plan to drive those sales through your own links.
Can Amazon Associates earn onsite commissions?
Amazon does not say yet. Associates have had storefronts since April 2026, but Amazon’s onsite pages still name only Amazon Influencer Program members.
When are onsite commissions paid?
About 60 days after the end of the month they are earned in. Amazon pays from $10 by direct deposit or gift card and from $100 by check, once the Onsite Store ID has its tax information.
