Write your gifting note
Every note asks for a disclosure, never an Amazon review.
Name one video or idea list, so they know why you chose them.
- Hi [first name],
- We loved [what you liked in their content], so we wanted you to try [product].
- There's no need to post. If you share it, please tag [brand] and add "Gifted by [brand]" or #ad.
- We never ask for Amazon reviews. Enjoy!
- [your name], [brand]
Hi [first name], it's [your name] from [brand]. We loved [what you liked in their content], so we've sent you [product] to try. It's on its way. There's no obligation to post. If you share it, please tag [brand] and mark it as a gift, for example "Gifted by [brand]" or #ad. Your opinion stays your own, and we never ask for Amazon reviews. Enjoy!
Key takeaways
- Write it for one person. Use their name and one thing you liked in their content, so the note shows why you chose them.
- Leave posting up to them, and say how to disclose. If they share it, ask them to tag you and add “Gifted by [brand]” or #ad.
- Never ask for an Amazon review. Amazon bans free products in exchange for customer reviews, and sellers answer for their partners.
- When Amazon ships it, send a message. Amazon packs Multi-Channel Fulfillment orders, so a card cannot go in the box.
What to write in an influencer gifting note
An influencer gifting note needs five parts: their name, why you chose them, what the gift is, a line that makes posting optional and says how to disclose the gift, and your own name. Two or three sentences cover it. Make the reason you chose them specific, such as one video you liked, because it is the line that shows the note was written for them.
| Part | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Their name | Shows the note was written for them, not the batch | Hi [first name], |
| Why you chose them | Names one video or idea list you liked | We loved your pantry organizing videos, |
| The gift | Says what it is in a few words | so we wanted you to try [product]. |
| No strings, and a disclosure | Leaves posting up to them and says how to mark it as a gift | There's no need to post. If you share it, please tag [brand] and add "Gifted by [brand]" or #ad. |
| Your name | Gives them a person to reply to | [your name], [brand] |
Influencer gifting note examples to copy
Each example keeps the lines that matter: no obligation to post, a clear disclosure and no review request. Replace the words in [brackets] with your own details, or use the generator above to fill them in. The one-liner suits a small card, and the founder’s note reads best handwritten.

Hi [first name], thank you for sharing [product]! [Something specific from their post] was our favorite part. If you'd like to work together on your next video, just reply here. [your name], [brand]
What to leave out of a gifting note
Leave out anything that turns the gift into a deal. A note that asks for a review, sets a deadline or tells the influencer what to say makes the gift conditional, and for an Amazon seller a review request breaks Amazon’s rules. Four things do not belong in it.
- An Amazon review request. Amazon bans offering a free product, or anything else, for a customer review, and holds sellers responsible when their partners break the rule.
- A deadline or a required post. If you need a post by a date, pay for it and agree it in writing. Our outreach guide compares the offers you can make an influencer.
- A script. Suggest what they might show, such as the problem the product solves, never what to conclude. Their opinion stays their own.
- A vague disclosure. The FTC says a stand-alone “thanks” does not tell followers about a gift. Ask for “Gifted by [brand]”, “ad” or #ad, placed with the post itself.
When Amazon ships the gift for you
When you send a sample from FBA stock through Multi-Channel Fulfillment, Amazon packs the order, so you cannot add a card. Send the note as a message the day it ships instead. The influencer learns who the box is from, and your disclosure line reaches them before they post. If you pack the gift yourself, use the card.
Hi [first name], it's [your name] from [brand]. Thanks for saying yes! Amazon is shipping your [product], so there won't be a note from us in the box. There's no obligation to post. If you share it, please tag [brand] and mark it as a gift, for example "Gifted by [brand]" or #ad. Your opinion stays your own, and we never ask for Amazon reviews. Enjoy!
Either way, ask before anything ships, so the influencer can say no and you do not waste a sample. Our product seeding guide has a message that offers the gift and compares the ways to ship samples from Amazon stock.
Who to send your gift to
A good note cannot rescue a gift sent to the wrong person. Send gifts to influencers whose Amazon storefronts already feature products like yours: their audience already buys your category, and your product fits what they film. Spreesy finds them from a product. Search a competitor’s ASIN to see the influencers whose storefronts carry it, the platforms they post on and the contact routes they publish.
If you already know who you are gifting, the generator is all you need.
Questions about influencer gifting notes
What should an influencer gifting note say?
Their name, why you chose them, what the gift is and that posting is optional. If they share it, ask them to tag you and mark it as a gift, such as “Gifted by [brand]” or #ad, then sign with your own name.
How long should an influencer gifting note be?
Three to five short lines, enough for a small card. Say why you chose them and how to disclose the gift, and let the product do the rest.
Should a gifting note ask the influencer to post?
No. A gift leaves posting up to them. If you need a post by a date, pay for it and agree the terms in writing. A note can still say what you think they would enjoy showing.
Can I mention reviews in a gifting note?
Only to say you never ask for them. Amazon bans offering free products, or anything else, in exchange for customer reviews, and holds sellers responsible for their partners, so leave any review request out.
Should a gifting note be handwritten?
Handwrite it when you send a few gifts, and print it when you send many. A printed card can still carry their name and one line about their content.
How do I thank an influencer after they post?
Message them soon after, and name something specific from their post. If you would like to work together again, say so and leave the next step to them.
What is a PR package note?
The note inside a PR package, the box of free products a brand sends to influencers. It is another name for an influencer gifting note, and the same rules apply.
